A strong quake measuring 8.0 on the Richter scale jolted Wenchuan County in southwest China's Sichuan Province at 14:28 PM on May 12, 2008. The quake has caused deaths and injuries, destroyed towns and roads, and cut off electricity, telecommunications, transport and water supply. The Chinese Government has taken a series of measures for disaster relief.

Responded to the call of “Stand firmly together to relieve and rescue victims” initiated by the Commercial Department of Yunnan Province, YMEC energetically mobilized all employees to make contributions to the disaster stricken area.

On May 16, YMEC and its employees donated 120 thousand yuan to the Donation Receiving Office of Yunnan Province to devote our love, pray happiness for people in quake-stricken area, and wish their conquering difficulties and rebuilding homeland at an early date.
