Representative Office of YMEC in Myanmar Donated Cash to Myanmar Government
The violent cyclone storm Nargis landed on Yangon on May 2 also caused various damages and losses to Embassy of PRC in Myanmar and China-Funded Institutions and Companies as well; fortunately, there was no casualties caused by this disaster.
On May 7, YMEC donated 100 thousand USD to the victims through the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement. Mr. Chen Wei, Chief Representative of YMEC in Yangon, said that compared with Myanmar victims, their loss is little, they are fully confident to overcome difficulties brought by the disaster in a short period, and they will do every effort to assist Myanmar Government and people in relief, recovery and reconstruction works.
YMEC is the first Chinese company to donate cash to the Myanmar Government and people. More donations are expected from other China-Funded Companies.
